培頓自豪：我飆垃圾話最棒

2013年籃球名人堂典禮在美國麻塞諸塞州的春田市隆重舉行。「手套」斐頓（Gary Payton）等12人正式進入這最高殿堂。

斐頓上台致詞，首對引薦的葛文（George Gervin）和斯托克頓（John Stockton）表達謝意。接著，他解釋為什麼自己認為斯托克頓比喬丹（Michael Jordan）難防，「首先聲明一點，這是我的個人意見！所以就是這麼回事。自從進入聯盟以後，我就一直在觀察他(斯托克頓)的比賽。雖然我的運動能力比他更加出色，但是他每場比賽的表現都很穩定。比如：上場32分鐘，出手12次命中9或10球，8罰7中，15次助攻外加4次抄截。這就是我認為他是最難防守的原因。」

當斐頓談與超音速隊友坎普（Shawn Kemp）的演出時，不改幽默本色，「我知道你們都在談論洛杉磯快艇是空接之城，但我們(超音速)才是空接之城的鼻祖。」

當然，佩頓也承認自己的大舌頭，也自豪地承認，「我是歷史上最棒的垃圾話球員。」

在講演的最後，斐頓表達進入名人堂的興奮：「我的職業生涯是完整的，GP終於進入名人堂了！謝謝。」
