2013美網公開賽女單八強決賽，中國金花李娜鏖戰三盤以6-4、6-7（5）、6-2擊敗俄羅斯的馬卡洛娃（Ekaterina Makarova），晉級四強。

李娜在美網展現出非常好的競技狀態，前4場保持一盤不失，八強賽對手是世界排名第25位的馬卡洛娃，比賽中，李娜的發球手感顯得不是很好，首盤比賽以6-4艱難拿下，但是在第二盤搶七局3-0領先下浪費好局，決勝盤2-2平後連下4局鎖定勝局，憑藉這場勝利，李娜首次在美網殺進四強。

賽後，李娜談到比賽過程，「今天的比賽我打得有些緊張。輸掉搶七之後，我告訴自己這樣不行，決勝盤要一分分認真打，最終我贏得了勝利。」

創造在美網的最佳成績紀錄。同時，這也是中國金花首度可以打進美網的四強，李娜表示：「很激動，第一次進美網女單四強，這種感覺非常好！」

準决赛中，李娜的對手是小威（Serena Williams），雙方9次交鋒，小威以8勝1負佔據絕對優勢。
