結束行程滿檔的亞洲行後返美的林書豪昨於臉書留言，「不可思議亞洲行，更看了我好兄弟『波（電影功夫熊貓主角）』！感謝過去3周對我展現熱情的所有球迷。」他也附上在四川抱熊貓的照片。

林書豪暑假先回台8天，除辦籃訓營，也到花蓮做公益與代言，並出席「林來瘋」紀錄片試映。隨後造訪上海、北京與成都，更首次前往四川熊貓基地。

火箭季前訓練營預計28日展開，林書豪將和隊友留在休士頓訓練，首場熱身賽10月6日登場，對手是鵜鶘，接著於10月10日飛馬尼拉、10月13日到台北，打2場海外熱身賽。

新球季還沒開打，紐約2支球隊先打口水戰！不滿皮爾斯放話說，籃網隊未來將主導紐約；尼克隊J.R.史密斯回嗆，「在我眼中，皮爾斯只是從波士頓逃出的悲慘人士，他會知道後果且付出代價。」

籃網軍容壯大，先發5人是戴隆威廉斯、喬強生、皮爾斯、賈奈特與布魯克羅培茲，還有基里連柯、泰瑞兩大替補；很有本錢與尼克爭紐約老大，也讓新球季增添話題。
