2013賽季美網公開賽女單第二輪，中國金花鄭潔經過3盤苦戰，以6-3、2-6、7-6(5)戰勝大威廉絲（Venus Williams），第四次闖進美網第三輪。

鄭潔遭遇兩屆美網冠軍大威，兩人曾在2004年邁阿密賽交鋒，當時鄭潔兩個4-6落敗。因為下雨比賽延後舉行，雙方前兩盤戰至平分，決勝盤鄭潔確立3-0的優勢，然而卻在第九局錯失發球勝賽局。儘管大威竭力將比賽拖入搶七局，但是鄭潔在小分5-5平後拿到關鍵兩分，最終7-5艱難贏得勝利。

比賽耗時3小時02分鐘，雙方數據差距並不明顯。鄭潔制勝分雖然18-29落後，但是非受迫性失誤31-44表現更好。決定比賽勝負的，是幾次關鍵分的把握。特別是決勝盤搶七最後時刻，大威1次掛網、1次出界而落敗。

「我當然希望自己能夠闖入第三輪，但是自己今年的確不在狀態。」大威賽後說：「她每一個球都盡力去追，而我今天的穩定性並不是很好。」
