洋基隊最穩定的先發投手黑田博樹，在場上「挨打」了，不只被擊出兩發紅不讓，還被強襲球打中右小腿，第3局沒解決任何出局，就被金鶯隊KO退場，中止連7場優質先發。
賽前，黑田戰績6勝2敗、防禦率1.99，相當優異，但1局下就被Nick Markakis、Chris Davis敲出全壘打。2局下，Manny Machado的強襲球，打中黑田小腿，洋基隊總教練Joe Girardi、防護員都上場關心，不過黑田沒有因此退場。
直到3局下，黑田被Adam Jones、Davis敲安打掉分後，Girardi才換投，黑田投2局被敲8安、失5分都是自責，帶著敗投資格退場，防禦率「暴漲」到2.67。
目前還不確定黑田傷勢，洋基隊傷兵名單裡面，已經有Andy Pettitte、Ivan Nova兩位先發投手，還有去年就受傷的Michael Pineda。
