相隔18個月重返主場打球，「飆風玫瑰」羅斯早忘記漫長復健過程，以及頸傷困擾，滿腦子想幫公牛贏球，而他做到了，最後5.7秒完成不可思議的拋投破網，公牛82比81氣走尼克，留下主場開幕戰勝利。

這1投有多神奇？對手尼克中鋒錢德勒說：「我就站在那裡，老實講，我不確定羅斯有看到籃框在哪。」當時羅斯面對費爾頓與錢德勒貼身防守，感覺隨手一拋，球就這麼空心入網。

尼克總教練伍森刻意「變陣」，7呎長人巴格納尼取代後衛普利吉歐尼的先發位置，企圖拉高先發高度，卻是毫無效果，因公牛在禁區得分，取得46比24絕對優勢，籃板也比尼克多抓6個。
