熱火隊將在開幕戰，頒發上季冠軍戒，掛上冠軍錦旗。這痛心疾首的一幕，公牛隊諸將不會觀禮，而會在休息室裡，不到場上。

「那是他們的慶祝典禮，不是我們的。」公牛隊一哥Derrick Rose說。如果是我們獲頒戒指，那會有點分心。我們得保持專注。」

對於公牛隊來說，類似場景並不陌生。2006年熱火隊奪得冠軍，新球季開幕戰就在主場揚起冠軍錦旗，不過，那場比賽，公牛隊以108比66痛電衛冕軍。現在熱火隊陣中，只有Udonis Haslem、Dwyane Wade參與過那一戰，公牛隊這邊也只有Loul Deng、Kirk Hinrich與賽。
