菜鳥好投 紅雀瓦查一戰成名

紅襪隊John Lackey一定覺得這場面似曾相識：一位年輕投手，在世界大賽拿下關鍵一勝。11年前，Lackey為天使隊贏得當年世界大賽第7戰，如今他卻成了配角，在一旁看著紅雀隊22歲投手Michael Wacha拿勝投。

「Wacha投得真的很好，」紅雀隊捕手Yadier Molina說，「只有一球投差了，被厲害的老爹(David Ortiz)逮中。」

在6局下老爹敲出那支逆轉兩分砲之前，菜鳥Wacha生涯季後賽先發4場，只被擊出10支安打、失1分，季後賽前25局如此威猛的先發投手，Wacha是史上第一人。

這4場季後賽，Wacha被打擊率只有0.122，史上第二好，生涯前4次季後賽先發，每場比賽失分都在2分以下，史上第4人。

威風八面的Wacha，賽後稱讚對手難纏。「紅襪隊不打壞球的，」Wacha說，「他們選球很精，增加我的用球數。」

紅雀隊厲害的年輕投手不只Wacha，這一戰接著Wacha後面上場的Carlos Martinez、救援成功的Trevor Rosenthal，都是不到23歲的新鮮手臂。單場勝投、救援成功都不到23歲，僅是史上第二次，前一次是1969年大都會隊，23歲Gary Gentry拿勝投、22歲Nolan Ryan救援成功。

「不意外，他們都很有天賦，」捕手Molina說，「我之前就說過很多次，這些年輕好手無所畏懼。」
