〔自由時報記者黃照敦／綜合報導〕推出王牌投手田中將大救援，看得出樂天隊不想夜長夢多，昨天經過一番苦戰後，以8：5擊敗難纏的羅德隊，在太平洋聯盟第2輪季後賽以4勝1敗勝出，取得總冠軍賽門票，將和中央聯盟讀賣巨人隊從26日起展開7戰4勝制的「日本一」總冠軍賽。

羅德7局上攻下1分追成5：5，情勢緊張，樂天隨即在7局下再攻進1分超前，8局下又添2分保險分，此時，樂天決定推出田中將大力守最後一局。

田中將大雖然在2出局後，被根元俊一和福浦和也相繼擊出安打，但田中仍順利解決老將井口資仁，拿下最後一個出局數，完成重要任務添得一場救援成功，並保持自己全季的不敗之身。
