NBA熱身賽持續開戰，灰熊21日客場出戰老鷹，灰熊在後衛Jerryd Bayless精準外線的火力加持下，終場便以90比82擊敗老鷹，拿下熱身賽四連勝。

灰熊主控Mike Conley本場比賽並未上陣，不過頂替他的Bayless表現出色，全場三分球6次出手皆進球破網，第二節終了前更是砍進漂亮的「buzzer beater」，總計Bayless攻下全場最高的22分，幫助灰熊取勝。

除Bayless有優異外線演出外，西班牙中鋒Marc Gasol攻下10分，Ed Davis也斬獲14分8籃板，新秀Nick Calathes則送出全場最高的10次助攻。

老鷹則以新加盟的Paul Millsap表現最佳，他全場攻下19分8籃板，後衛Jeff Teague攻下全隊次高的15分外帶5助攻，老鷹其餘球員得分皆未達雙位數。

灰熊此役開賽便祭出招牌強硬防守，頻頻製造老鷹失誤，並有效防止對手命中籃框，在首節就打出28比14優勢，奠定勝基。

受制於對手防守壓制，老鷹全場兩分球命中率僅34.6％、三分球命中率則只有25％，全場手感冰冷的狀況下，輸球並不意外。
