中華男排11日在東亞運預賽最後一戰，直落三(25:14、17、15)擊敗南韓，預賽4 連勝預賽第一進四強準決賽，並且確定取得體育署規定的明年亞運參賽資格， 13日將和預賽第四的南韓再交手，即使中國、日本和南韓都以青年隊或大學隊參加東亞運，但中華隊如能奪下東亞運金牌，同樣也是台灣男排重要的成就，並有助於未來國內發展。

中華男排不像中華女排，屬於體育署的奧運重點項目，不過這批國家隊男排是近10年以來，評價最高的一批國家隊，各方面條件都比2000年中期要整齊，被期待可以在亞洲一拚，本屆東亞運只是要給他們測試的舞台，取得亞運資格之後，以明年亞運做為目標。

黃建逢儼然是目前中華男排第一攻擊手，本場得分20分，對日本得19分，對中國得22分，王明俊是另一砲手對中國得26分，本場對南韓因直落三局，得15分。

中華男排雖從湖南的世錦賽亞洲資格賽，再到杜拜的亞錦賽居第9名，整隊有越打越穩定，過去東亞運僅在2001年得銅牌，當時也是中華男排黃金一代，如果本屆真能奪金，將是繼1998年亞運銅牌，和2001年東亞運銅牌，締造台灣男排15年來最佳國際賽名次。
