今年夏天，休士頓火箭隊大舉買進「魔獸」Dwight Howard，搭配原有陣容，取得角逐總冠軍的有利位置。

不過根據當時《ESPN》的報導，卻指出中鋒Omer Asik向球團高喊「賣我」，他不想成為Howard的替補或與其一同並肩作戰，但未獲管理階層正面回應。

《RealGM》最新消息顯示，Asik否認這項要求交易的傳言，他對此表示：「身為一名籃球員，我服從教練，只做他交代我的事。」

這位身高7呎（約213公分）、體重255磅（約116公斤）的長人，是來自土耳其的中鋒，上季打出身價，繳出生涯代表作，場均可攻下10.1分、強摘11.7籃板外帶2.7次阻攻，有逐漸嶄露頭角的趨勢，展現在禁區的宰制力與破壞力。
