投5局被敲9安、包括2發紅不讓、慘失7分責失。這樣的表現如何？CC Sabathia說：爛透了！

他不是在罵別人，那張不及格的成績單，正是他的作品。「我爛透了！」Sabathia說，「真希望我能找個什麼理由來解釋，但我就是爛透了，好囧。」

對上「死對頭」紅襪隊，Sabathia投得糟糕，難怪會這麼不滿意。但他罵過自己，沒因此喪志，而是激發再起決心。

「必須找方法改進，搞清楚問題在哪裡，才能幫助球隊，而不是造成傷害。」Sabathia說。

問題在於，今年的Sabathia，變成一台大型全壘打製造機，本季他已經被打23發紅不讓，寫下生涯最差紀錄，而且明星賽才剛過，這難堪數字還可能會往上加。

5月14日是一個重要的分水嶺，到那天為止，Sabathia是個4勝3敗、防禦率3.19的投手，但那場比賽之後，接下來12場出賽，只有4場優質先發，最近兩個月，防禦率都超過5。

總教練Joe Girardi期許這位王牌左投，早日恢復水準。「現實是，Sabathia得恢復身手，他會繼續努力改善的。」
