「魔獸」哈沃德（Dwight Howard）的爭奪大戰即將拉開大幕，湖人球星布萊恩（Kobe Bryan）卻認為，哈沃德最終還是要自己決定。

布萊恩接受NBA官網訪問時，談到為什麼希望哈沃德留在湖人？「我覺得他的天賦水準，他的防守威力都是很強大的，我們都看到上賽季末段的時候他的表現，當我們全隊都開始正確運轉起來時，我們都看到了哈沃德能夠做到些什麼……我覺得這些因素讓哈沃德變得非常、非常有價值。」

現在各球隊的追求攻勢，布萊恩強調，哈沃德要自己決定到底加盟哪支球隊。「這必須是他自己的決定，你最不想做的一件事情就是去說服一個人留在某地，如果你不得不這麼做的話，那麼在即將到來的下個賽季，當挑戰或是逆境出現時，他就會很容易這麼說『好吧，都是他們無論如何非得說服我留在這裡，其實我真的不想呆在這裡，我更寧願（去其它的什麼地方），但他們遊說我這樣做。』你希望這個決定是哈沃德自己做出來的，當他內心深處有什麼東西在支持著他做出決定時，這才是總冠軍的信號。我只想給他的決定提供些幫助。」
