建仔自評：我的伸卡球沒有掉

王建民回到大聯盟後，最慘烈一戰，賽後自評問題出在「伸卡球沒下墜」。記者追問教頭John Gibbons，王建民會有下次先發機會嗎？教頭沒有正面回答。

一旦伸卡球失去威力，王建民沒有別的武器，足以應付紅襪隊打者。這一戰，王建民1又2/3局掉7分，生涯總計在紅襪隊主場Fenway Park投48又1/3局，防禦率6.52，對戰紅襪隊的防禦率則是5.60。

「我們做過功課，知道王建民的步數是什麼。」紅襪隊總教練John Farrell說。

「王建民第1局看起來還不差，製造不少滾地球出局，然而第2局的時候，球就偏高，對方可沒放過，」Gibbons說，「他之前投得不錯，但這就是棒球，總會碰上像今天這樣的狀況，每個人都遇得到，王建民會止跌回升的。」
